Lakes Leisure Centre, Ulverston
South Lakes Hockey Club offers hockey training for boys and girls aged between 6 and 16 years. The training sessions provide safe, friendly hockey for young players to have fun, meet new friends and be active!
Each session is run by experienced qualified coaches and has a small fee of £1.50, and we also ask if you would like to donate £5 at the beginning of the season to help with running costs. Hockey is a winter sport and sessions run from September to May.
At the training sessions we coach all the skills needed to play the game. So all you need to do is come along to a session with suitable sports kit for the conditions, plus shin pads (gum shields recommended), and have some fun. Don't have a hockey stick? We'll provide this! You also have the chance to put newly learnt hockey skills to the test in tournaments held throughout the season.
At our hockey sessions, young players have got the right to:
Have fun when playing hockey
Be safe when playing hockey
Make friends through hockey
Be treated with respect by everyone
Karina Rushton is our designated Welfare Officer and is present at most junior training sessions. She can also be contacted by phone or email:
